The New Year is looking bright with a sneak peak of a test section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail.
Tweed Shire Council kindly invited the NRRT team to check out the surface and we can confirm it is looking good!
A compacted gravel surface is being installed along a 200 metre test section to trial and evaluate the surface suitability for local conditions. This section is still under construction and is not open to the public or traffic yet.
It will form part of the Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek section and is being constructed and managed by Tweed Council. Crews have started construction works at a number of locations along the Tweed section – and on track for completion by Dec 2022!
Big thank you to Tweed Shire Council. Photos by the team and Stephen from Adventure Cycling Murwillumbah
