| What does this mean for the Northern Rivers Rail Trail?There could be a delay before our rail trail gets started.We can learn from the pilot project of Tumbarumba.Rail Trails are finally going to happen in NSW!The Government recognises our rail trail will create much needed jobs and healthy tourism in the Northern Rivers.
Once the Tumbarumba pilot goes ahead and the process for developing rail trails in NSW is finalised, we will be in a good position to build our rail trail.
Why didn’t we get funding first time round?
Our project is a big one, costing a lot of money.
There were 6 submissions from the Northern Rivers Region which complicated things even further.
We have 4 councils involved as apposed to 1 council in Tumbarumba. This simplified things for them.
We are working on an action plan to ensure our rail trail remains on top of the list for future Government funding and we are ready for implementation.
