Xmas Newsletter

WE HOPE YOU HAVE A VERY HAPPY HOLIDAY

From all of us from the Northern Rivers Rail Trail Team.

We acknowledge that 2020 has been a very challenging year for many and hope 2021 will be better. In spite of droughts, fires, floods and pandemics we have continued to work tirelessly  for the rail trail and hope to actually  see some good news next year!

Once again, thanks to everyone who is still with us and many thanks to Rail Trails for NSW and Rail Trails Australia for their continued help and support.

Vale Doug Anthony

Doug Anthony with Marie Lawton

We are sorry to say our wonderful patron Doug Anthony passed away this week at the age of 90.

Doug was a great person, politician and supporter of the rail trail. He will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Funding required to complete stage 2 of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail – Bentley to Eltham section

This petition closes on 5th January and we would like to get to 2000 signatures. We are up to 1866. The petition will help to get more funding to take the trail from Bentley to Eltham and hopefully Booyong.

Richmond Valley Council resolved to adopt the final master plan for the Casino to Bentley section. You can find it on page 61 onwards.

TUMBARUMBA has been a great success, despite the pandemic and fires. I am sure our rail trail will be equally successful.
